NBA news: LeBron James’ Lakers performances analysed by Spurs star DeMar DeRozan | Other | Sport

That’s the view of San Antonio Spurs star DeMar DeRozan, who is facing LeBron tonight in the NBA.

LeBron joined the Lakers in the summer having opted out of the final year of his contract with Cleveland Cavaliers.

He was the No 1 with the Cavs and has quickly assumed the same role in LA, averaging 28.4 points per game.

James has reached the NBA Finals for the past seven years, also starring for Miami Heat.

And DeRozan admits there is little change in the way LeBron plays just because he is with another team.

“He handled the ball a lot in Cleveland and Miami,” DeRozan said.

“Now, he’s kind of getting off the ball, finding his teammates, playing a lot faster in transition.

“When it’s crunch time, you know who the ball goes to.

“A few things change but, late in the game, he’s still the same. Same LeBron.”

Brandon Ingram, currently injured, has struggled since the arrival of LeBron.

The pair are very similar style-wise but Ingram admits that it is becoming simpler to play alongside LeBron.

“There’s been an adjustment just because we are both so ball dominant,” he recently told Lakers Voices.

“He can pass the ball, I can drive the basketball.

“He can drive the basketball, he’s a lot stronger with the finish.

“He can shoot the three, he can shoot the mid-range. He can do pretty much anything on a basketball floor.

“As the games continue, that’s going to help a lot because we can get a connection.

“Where is he going to be when I drive the basketball? Where am I going to be when he drives the basketball?

“As the games continue and we continue to talk, there’ll be some connectivity.”
